How It Works: Our Mighty Mission Statement
Young But Mighty (YBM) is an organization of Boston area youth sharing volunteer experiences and helping young people to get involved in community service. We understand that it can be challenging to find volunteer opportunities for younger kids. Our goal is to use the power of our community to provide options for mighty members 18 years old and younger (and in particular 12 years old and younger), and to use this website as a platform for shared experiences. Join us and learn how you can make a positive impact on your community, and the world, while telling others just how you did it.
Follow the links at the top of this page to pre-teen and teen volunteering options and start your journey.
Read the details of how Boston-area kids did it.
Work with these great volunteer organizations to help others.
You can even bring your parents into the mighty mission.
We need your help! If you have had a unique volunteer expereince that will be of interest to the YBM community:
Please share your experiences by emailing us at jgarasic@youngbutmighty.org
We will send you some instructions for your submission,
Then we will publish your experiences on the YBM website so other kids can learn from you, and make sure we give you credit for your help.
About Young But Mighty
Young But Mighty is a Boston-based collaboration that brings together kids and young adults who wish to make the world a better place by volunteering in their communities. The group was founded by 7th grade student Joseph Garasic (a graduate of The Chestnut Hill School in Brookline, MA, 2024 recipient of the Schreiber Family Community Service Award, and now a student at The Rivers School in Weston, MA) with the guidance and encouragement of his teachers and parents. When Joe found it challenging to locate volunteer options for kids, he decided to use the power of the internet and Boston's kids to bring YoungButMighty to life.
